Radio 3000 is an independent singer, rapper and producer, currently residing in South East Asia where he has worked on introducing Def Jam to the region with his business partner and fellow rapper DaBoyWay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1) To kick things off, could you tell us a little about your music career to date?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My music career has gone through various stages. I come from humble beginnings. I started recording music in high school and eventually pressed up my songs in to cd and would sell them to my peers at school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That early hustle turned into me pushing my music throughout my city and creating a buzz. Once I felt I needed to expand outside my city I moved to Los Angeles where I attended the Musicians Institute where I studied the music business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there I moved to Atlanta to work on music and then eventually found my way to South East Asia where I currently reside. To date I have released music with all three major record labels Warner, Sony and Universal along with a few million streams on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently I was instrumental in introducing Def Jam to South East Asia along with my business partner and rapper DaBoyWay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) What does a typical day in the life look like for you as an independent musician? Can you take us through a recent day?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A typical day for me usually consist of a early morning where I\u2019m making my business and personal phone calls back to America due to the time difference. From there I will work on any projects that I have on my list of things to do, which I try to complete by day’s end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That list can include: songwriting, live show, future planning, meetings, etc. Social media is a major part of my marketing efforts so I\u2019ll make sure that everything is up to date and relevant to the overall message I want to put out to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) Do you have any tips, tricks or shortcuts to help you manage your workload and schedule?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I think a major key to have a sufficient work day is to plan ahead of time. Usually the night before I will write down a list of things to do for the coming day. When I wake up and start work I will already know what I have to do. Now all I have to do is execute the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) In between your job, life and all your other responsibilities, how do you ensure you find some sort of balance in your life?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For me I like to do things outside of music sometimes. Maybe it\u2019s getting out of the studio or office and do something polar opposite of work. I love to travel. That\u2019s one of my passions. When I visit a new place I like the feeling of the unknown and I love to discover what the new place I\u2019m visiting has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) What does work life balance mean to you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Work life balance to me means everything. You don\u2019t want to be too consumed with work. You miss out on so much life if all you do is work. I\u2019m not saying not to work hard I\u2019m saying it\u2019s important to do things other then work to maintain a healthy mental state. We are humans not robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) What do you think are some of the best habits you\u2019ve developed over the years to help you strive for success and balance?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the years I have developed tunnel vision when it comes to my career. I\u2019m focused on my goals and I don\u2019t stop until I accomplish them. I feel like I’m very persistent and consistent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As long as your working and moving forward you will see results. It is important when you do accomplish a goal that you\u2019d too and smell the roses for a moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acknowledge your accomplishments with a small pat on the back and then move on to the next task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7) Are there any books that have helped you improve over the years?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I love The 48 Laws Of Power<\/em>. That book has helped me navigate through the world both socially and in business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8) What is the number one thing you do to make sure you get the most out of your day?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Everyday I wake I thank the almighty creator. To me that\u2019s the jumpstart to my day. From there everything is pretty systematic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9) Do you have any last thoughts on work, life or balance that you\u2019d like to share with our readers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In today\u2019s times especially dealing with things like Covid-19 I\u2019ve learned very fast that you always have to be ready for change. Always keep a plan A, B, and C. You never know what tomorrow brings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Covid hit I was scheduled for 10 shows in the month of April. Once the lockdown kicked in all shows were canceled and I was left searching for other ways to generate income and promote my music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a huge lesson for me. Have multiple streams of income and plan for as many different possible outcomes as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
