Can you share with us your career journey and what you&#8217;re currently up to?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have over 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, and in media production, with a focus on building and executing content strategies for organisations. Currently, I am the Head of Content and Community at the Regional Angel Investor Network (RAIN), where I am responsible for creating engaging content and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation across Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We&#8217;d love to know what a typical day is like for you. Could you describe a recent workday?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A typical day for me at RAIN involves a mix of content creation, stakeholder engagement, and project management. On a typical day, I might speak to startups and angel investors, media, and lots of industry contacts. Recently, I spent the morning developing a marketing campaign for an upcoming pitch event, followed by meeting with a group of partners, sponsors, and startups to discuss content needs. In the afternoon, I had a strategy session with our team to plan for upcoming initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can you define work-life balance for yourself and share with us your approach in maintaining it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work-life balance is all about finding a healthy equilibrium between work and personal pursuits. For me, it involves setting boundaries on work hours when I work from home, prioritising self-care practices such as yoga, gym exercise, meditation, and carving out time for loved ones. I find that having a busy day and a set schedule helps me to maintain a healthy balance and be productive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote has-sitka-light-accent-background-color has-background\"><blockquote><p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/eepurl.com\/h_r4cb\">Sign up for Balance the Grind&#8217;s newsletter<\/a> to receive weekly stories about work-life balance and inspiration from people all over the world!<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change is constant, and it&#8217;s essential for growth. Have you made any lifestyle changes in the past year to improve your work-life balance?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Absolutely! Over the past year, I\u2019ve realised the value in recognising when I need a break! I&#8217;ve focused on implementing time-management techniques to maximise my productivity during work hours, while also allowing myself to fully disconnect during personal time. I&#8217;ve also prioritised exercise and healthy eating habits to improve my overall well-being and mental clarity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We&#8217;re always on the lookout for new resources! Can you recommend any books, podcasts, or newsletters that have helped you in your journey towards balance?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course! Some of my favourite resources include The Rich Roll podcast, which features interviews with successful entrepreneurs and business leaders, and the Harvard Business Review newsletter, which offers insightful articles on management and leadership. I also highly recommend the book <em>Atomic Habits<\/em> by James Clear, which provides practical advice for building positive habits that lead to success in both work and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before we wrap up, do you have any final words of wisdom or insights on work, life, or balance that you&#8217;d like to share with our readers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My advice would be to prioritise self-reflection and be intentional about setting goals that align with your personal values. Be confident enough to walk away from people or any environment that doesn\u2019t work for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s important to take the time to assess your priorities and develop a plan that allows you to achieve success while also maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.
